Somatic experiencing® is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. It is the life’s work of Dr. Peter A. Levine, a form of alternative therapy aimed at relieving symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental and physical-related trauma health problems. The SE™ approach releases traumatic shock, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma. SE offers a framework to assess where a person is “stuck” in the fight, flight or freeze responses and provides clinical tools to resolve these fixated physiological states. This helps to facilitate completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body, thus addressing the root case of trauma symptoms. Sessions involve a client tracking their own experience & offer a bottom up approach by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions. Sessions also often involve touch work to help further facilitate movement in the physiology towards healing.
iRest® ~ Integrative Restoration Yoga Nidra Meditation is an evidence-based form of guided meditation that has been shown to resolve symptoms associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The simple steps of iRest (which have been tested in clinical trials) calm the nervous system, release stress, increase resiliency and restore a sense of balance and control. iRest is a meditation practice based on the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra and adapted to suit the conditions of modern life and was created by clinical psychologist Richard C. Miller. When practiced regularly - a little and often - iRest enables you to meet each moment of your life with unshakable peace and wellbeing, no matter how challenging or difficult your situation. iRest can be offered in both group and individual practices.
NeuroAffective Touch® is a polyvagal-informed model that uses intentional mindful touch to bring the unconscious memories held in the body into conscious awareness. Working with the polyvagal nervous system, NATouch™ helps establish a new somatic foundation from which to rework trauma-based unconscious behavioral responses and rebuild self-awareness and identity. NAT uses touch as a vital bridge to body-mind integration. By highlighting the primary role of the body and emphasizing its equal importance to the mind, NeuroAffective Touch® addresses emotional, relational, and developmental deficits that cannot be reached by verbal means alone.
Kathy Kain's Touch Skills: The primary focus of this workshop series is on developing tactile skills, somatic awareness, and other touch-related skills in the context of working with the resolution of trauma.

Motivation Interviewing: It is a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence.
